Immersed in culture ...

Stade certainly has a lot to offer. Not really surprising, considering the city’s 1000 year history. History that is alive wherever you look - and not just in the city’s museums. History that is especially evident in the exemplary manner in which the old city has been renovated .
Stade is well known for its wide range of cultural activities. Numerous cultural facilities are constantly organising something or other. These activities are concentrated in STADEUM – the region’s cultural and conference centre.
Stade as a hub between Hamburg and the mouth of the River Elbe has a wide range of educational, cultural, sporting and leisure facilities. The city has all forms of schools. Besides 24 crèches and kindergartens, the region has youth centres, a youth hostel, three geriatric day care centres, homes for the aged, various information centres and the German Red Cross workshop for the handicapped.
Medical care facilities are fully developed, including a hospital, the Elbe Klinikum Stade, Klinik Dr. Hancken GmbH as well as the Dr. Witwity surgical and orthopaedic clinic.
